Somebody Must Have Liked Them is All I Can Say

Wowsers!! I actually came home from the quilt show with two ribbons: Best of show in Medium quilts and also Best of show in Small quilts. Also, I received some very nice compliments including my favorite from a woman who told me how much she appreciates my quilts being part of their quilt show. Apparently, she says she can tell immediately upon taking my quilts out of the bag prior to hanging, just exactly whose quilts they are--mine! This is the kind of thing that makes me feel like I've begun to accomplish what I think about from time to time. Am I developing a personal style? And is it possible to attain that when in fact I often use a Blackburn Design, Miss Rosie's Quilt Co., or Whimsical's etc. etc. pattern as a starting point? These woman from the local quilt guild were very kind to me this weekend and I'm starting to think that although our styles are extremely diverse, they respect the fact that I'm a dedicated quilter woman. I admit that it is very thrilling to have my quilts hanging in a public venue but I am a chicken heart when somebody says something/anything about my quilts in front of me. I wish I could just be the spider on the wall listening in you know? Then I could gauge for myself the impact they truly have on the casual viewer.*wink
