A Little Bit of Stitching

My circles are saving my life. I don't know how it happened that this simple little project has become the one thing I look forward to. Every. Single. Day. And the funny thing is, I think my circles are getting more interesting because of it.
Almost up to date with the January circles!
The light gold circle on the far right bottom was a day where it felt like I might be 'disappearing'. Who am I? Torn betwixt and between, rarely doing the things that 'I' want to do. But apparently a part of me must or this craziness in my life wouldn't be happening, right? Life is about choices and I'm choosing to back burner my quilting right now for the greater good of my extended family. I'm just hoping this is a very temporary thing.
Just a little more hand quilting left to do on this quilt!
There are waaay too many quilts in my head to let this go on forever.*wink Oh well. At least I have another quilt top {or 20} to be hand quilting when I run out of quilt on this one. Two or three hoops and it's done, amazing at that sounds. Then I just have to find time to sandwich and pin the next one.

  4. Basting a quilt really can be a pain in the neck (and actually makes my back hurt!), but hopefully you might be able to manage to do one when you need your next hand quilting project. Fingers crossed for your family members to heal.

  5. I'm there too, just now. But I'm so happy that these small pieces of fabric can save our lives. And I'm so happy to be a part of a fabric society, so I can have people like you for my friend. Be strong!

  8. Your life is showing in the circles....some are sharp and clear and others muted and muddy. Many of us have gone through those times.....they do pass, it is the getting thru that is hard. Your stitching is the constant that will soothe you. Prayers sent.

  10. plenty of circle blocks here, was reading on another block that she is making hers into bigger blocks as she goes along. We all need time for ourselves if only to help our sanity

  16. Your circles are beautiful and are coming along nicely, as is your quilting. Take things one step at a time, one day at a time.

  17. Have you seen the quilt basting method, where you use a pool noodle to roll each layer up, and then unroll as you go?? You can baste up on a table, in a smaller space!! I am not good at forwarding things, but saw it on Facebook today---this time with furnace insulation pipe covers ( like pool noodles---only black). It would speed up the process. This time will pass. You are still stitching daily & probably designing quilts in your creative brain!! I have been at this place of being the helper, and one day peace will flood your life---as being a person of meaning to this relative. Hang on & PLEASE keep stitching!!

  18. A testament to the therapeutic qualities of quilting. You get full marks from me for being able to do a circle a day - not sure I'd have the discipline - they will be an interesting diary of your year.

  25. How lucky is your family to contain YOU, you who is willing to help. Courage and fortitude! It's good to take care of yourself with a little regular quiet stitching while caring for others.

  28. Audrey, I know exactly what you mean about looking forward to the daily circle. I've got a bit behind because of the usual seasonal illness - it's gone on for two weeks and I'm sick of it now. Finally it's going away and I'm able to concentrate enough to get back to some stitching: it feels good! Your circles look great (you must have loads by now) - it's funny because I've just finished one about feeling as though I'm disappearing into the background too :D Something else is obviously going on for you at the moment, and I've got a lot of catching up to do on here, but I hope things are getting better and you're remembering to look after yourself too - we can't have you disappearing on us! x
