Cactus Basket Blocks are Almost Done

All of the applique is finished up for these sweet (not so little) cactus basket blocks! I guess I was really in the mood to work on these, because I just whizzed through them in no time at all. The top half of each of the basket was hand pieced, but once again I'm combining that with machine piecing. To top half needed special care, but the bottom? Not so much. I'm definitely not a purist!

I have to laugh at myself when I get in a groove color-wise or with fabrics, similar layouts and blocks, or even when the applique starts blending together. Ideas and fabric just seamlessly flow over into the next project and before I know it, several of my ongoing quilts have a lot of  the same characteristics!
Almost finished
It's kind of like working in a series except the perimeters are not as clearly defined. Is that a bad thing? I don't see how it possibly could be. It's not like I'm turning out clones! Or hmmm... Do you think all of my quilts look the same?

  1. Absolutely not! I love your quilts and I think they are all in a similar style but they are definitely not clones. I think it is fun to see how they do relate to one another though. I like this one. :)

  2. They look the same in that they are all beautiful. Other than that the are different. Is this another of your own designs? If so I want to buy a copy when you get your business up and running. Hugs

  3. No, your quilts do NOT look the same! Even if they did, it is not a bad thing to be known for a 'look' or style! Great cactus blocks!

  4. Of course your quilts don't look the same. Each has it's own strong character, but you do have a style of your own.

  8. I love these blocks, Audrey! The use of negative space is inspired, and the little round flowers are so cute.

You do have a clear style, but that is not the same thing at all as "looking the same." As long as you keep trying new things, I don't think you'll have anything to worry about. :)

  13. You have a terrific style, that I love, but it doesn't mean your quilts look all the same.

  14. I like your quilts and honestly while they arent all the same - I usually know which quilts you've pinned on Pinterest before I see your name. That;s probably because they have similar colours though or characteristics.

You keep on doing your own thing- it works beautifully for you!

  20. Of course they don't look the same, but we all have those preferences that may come back in various quilts, guess that is what they call someone's 'style'. These are fun blocks!
