I'm Sure This Only Happens to Me

Last night I was very busy making good progress on the applique work for this quilt.  Feeling good about things and happily visiting away with my daughters, which yes, is a bit distracting at times.  Then, I did it.  I accidentally snipped out a little hole in the curly-cue on the corner applique piece.  Groan.....
The little oops that feels like a big oops.....
You can barely see it in the picture, but it's there and it's definitely a hole in the fabric.  Oooh, I was so mad.  Grumble, grumble, snarl and all the while everyone is busy asking 'what happened?' and then of course jumping in with all kinds of advice about how to fix it.  Which really made me want to tell them all to go jump in the river and leave me alone.  Seriously, some days it feels like one step forward and two steps back.....

  1. Oh no..I know that feeling of horror when I stuff something up.

Cant really see how big the hole is but will fray stop help it out along with a dab of glue?

  3. Not to offer more unsolicited advice...but it might be a creative opportunity for a tiny appliqué bird or ladybug. Maybe? If not, grumble away, sometimes that is the only option. :)

  5. I feel your pain and frustration... walk away from it for a day or two... you'll come up with a solution! I'm sure of it!

  6. Been there, done that, too! It just adds more "rich history" to the quilt. Better to be enjoying your family, than to make a perfect quilt.

  10. Oh crud, I hate when that happens. It can sure ruin your mood and your day. I'm sure I would have said some bad words just about then. But I'm sure you'll come up with a great solution.

But, aside from the teeny hole, your applique looks great!
