Because Idle Hands Cause My Mouth to Flap

11 more baskets in all their finished glory!

An abandoned basket block with about 25 more behind it all prepped & ready to go.....
We have a young couple with 4 children living with us for about 2 weeks until they can move into their new rental house.  This means no matter how much I really, really want to be in my sewing room, it's not gonna happen any time soon.  Sooooo, out comes this project I've been peck, peck, pecking away at for 2 years in November.  After the green blocks come the brown and black baskets and THEN, the fleur de lis border triangles.  Why oh why do I do this to myself?  hehe  Exactly for times like this.  (Not to mention for when my mother-in-law comes to visit.)

  1. I have 87 of those little baskets made. I still wonder why this quilt has had so much appeal to so many of us. I think you have to give in and accept that not much other sewing is going to happen, sadly.
